Dyslexia@work Program

Dec 9, 2022 | News, Orienta

Orienta has been the first Employment Agency in Italy to obtain the Dyslexia Friendly award, a recognition given by AID (Italian Dyslexia Association) at the end of the program called “DSA Progress for Work”.

The project, which lasted for over a year, was created by AID to train recruiters to better understand people with a Specific Learning Disability (SLD).

The Italian Dyslexia Association showed the Orienta recruiters the most suitable methods to face interviews with candidates who have dyslexia or another type of SLD.

When recruiters are unaware of the learning difficulties of an applicant, they easily make a wrong evaluation of that person, compromising their success. The new selection techniques introduced by AID aim at reducing these events, giving everyone the possibility of being understood and correctly evaluated.

The training offered to Orienta recruiters finally made them conscious of the difficulties some candidates have. Through this new technique and a balanced skills assessment, candidates’ capabilities can finally come to light.

Thanks to the Dyslexia Friendly status, Orienta is offering new opportunities to many adults with SLD, giving them the chance to get access to the world of work.
